Flu Treatment | How to Cure the Flu

What is the Flu:

Influenza is also called the flu, is a highly contagious respiratory infection caused by influenza viruses. It is a common, contagious illness that is like a very bad cold. The influenza virus usually enters the body through mucus membranes in the mouth, nose, or eyes.

The flu usually spreads from person to person when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks and expels the virus into the air. You can also contract the virus by handling an object touched by an infected person.

What Causes the Flu:

The flu is caused by an influenza virus.

Most people catch the flu when they breathe in tiny droplets from coughs or sneezes of someone who has the flu. You can also catch the flu if you touch something with the virus on it, and then touch your mouth, nose, or eyes.

Symptoms of the Flu:

Flu symptoms can include any or all of the following:

• Coughing
• Sneezing
Fever
• Body aches
Runny nose
• Tiredness
Headache
• Sore throat, dry cough

Remedies for Flu:

* Take Vitamin C to boost immune system and increase the number of white blood cells.

* Drink plenty of fluids like water, fruit juices and soda.

* Make a tea mixing 1 tsp. bayberry bark, 1 tsp. grated ginger root, ½ tsp. cayenne powder, 1 cup of boiling water. Let it sit for 20 minutes.

* Get as much sleep as possible. This is necessary for your body to stay healthy.

* Simply use warm water and salt, gargling will soothe and disinfect your throat membranes and moisten a dry sore throat.

* Use a humidifier as breathing moist air can help ease nasal congestion and ameliorate sore throat pain.

* Inhalation of steam is another way of reducing cough. Similarly steam baths can help in reducing the fatigue, you may experience.

* Who are suffering the symptoms of colds and flu ginger tea is very effective. at least 3 cups drink of the tea each day.

* Take Garlic capsules to decrease the growth of the virus.

Flu Prevention:

* Avoid sharing food, utensils, cups or bottles. Cover your cough with a tissue and throw away after use. Carry hand sanitizer with you. Use it often during the day and always after touching your face.

* Cough into your sleeve if a tissue is not available. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

* Stay in your apartment, dorm room, or home for at least 24 hours after any fever is gone. Wear a mask if you leave your room.
